Frogs VS Snowbirds
Hello Sun City Pickleball on this rainy, soggy day.
Our Spring Slam Tournament was a huge success! But with Jeff and Lynda Skaggs as the tournament directors, how would you expect anything less? Thanks Jeff and Lynda. Would also like to thank the many club members who volunteered! These tournaments could not happen without you. The Skaggs and myself got numerous compliments from the participants, the referees, the venders and the spectators on what a great, well-organized tournament our club hosts.
Our club was very well represented not only with participants in the tournament, but also on the medal stand. Well done. The winners have appeared with their picture and hardware on our Facebook page.
Our next membership meeting is on Monday, March 27, at 4pm at the Marinette auditorium.
If you volunteered at the Spring Slam? You filled out a raffle ticket for volunteering. The drawing will be immediately after the membership meeting. Must be present to win.
The Desert Frogs VS the Snowbirds tournament is coming up on Saturday April 1st. Yes. April 1st. This is not an April fouls day joke. The tournament will begin at 2:30pm at the Marinette courts, The signup should be on our web page soon. There will be 42 signups for Frogs, 42 for Snowbirds. 40 players for each. 2 subs/reserves for each.
We will also be having our Farewell dinner on Saturday the 1st pf April. The dinner will be held at the Lake View recreation center. Starting at 6pm. Dinner will be provided. Bring a beverage of your choice. The signup for the dinner should also be on web page soon. There will be 200 signup slots for this event.
Wish i had some good news about the possibility of our club getting more pickleball courts! Not only do I not have good news, I’ve got no news. It appears the new/current RCSC board of directors is going to kill the Lake View project. Not %100 sure, but likely. Looks like they could be starting all over once again, It was one year ago today we had a membership meeting at the Mountain View, Thought there was a plan for good, quality courts to be built at the Lake View. Not sure what the plan is now?
Can’t hardly believe I’m talking about events in April! Some of our Snowbirds are getting ready to head back to their summer homes.
Stay dry and as always, happy hitting.
Dan
