Kind of a interesting time of year for our club members. Our full time Sun City residence are showing up early in the morning to play before it gets too hot. A snowbird like myself could not play pickleball today because Colorado got several inches of snow.
Even with many of the snowbirds back at their summer homes, the Marinette courts particularly have remained busy especially during the morning hours. There are scheduled club activities most mornings. These events do have reserved courts. But if an event has four reserved courts and 30 plus show up for the event the participants are only allowed to use those four courts and cannot displace other club members from courts. Most club events have a sign-up genius page for that event. If you look at the sign-up page and all the slots are full, do not show up at the event expecting to participate. This DOES NOT mean you can’t still play pickleball! You just need to use the paddle holders for the next available court. You can even still play with your friends by putting your four paddles together in the holder. This is not the first email I have sent addressing the paddle holder usage. Please, if unclear how to use the paddle holder system ask a board member or one of our many experienced players.
Especially as the temps are rising, please remember to put the pickleball balls in a cooler when you are finished playing. Don’t assume someone else is going to do it.
Stay cool or warm depending on you circumstances and as always happy hitting.
