Sun City Pickleball Club Posted on October 31, 2018 by Bill BoothOctober 31, 2018

Dear Club Members,

Hope you are enjoying some of the matches (either playing, volunteering or watching) this week at the Round Up Tournament.  Maybe this is inspiring and you want to learn to play better?  Great.
Thanks to Lis Smoot and Bud Langford, next week begins our new season of club clinics.
Beginner/Advanced Beginner: Lis will lead the beginner/advanced beginner classes on Tuesday and Thursday’s.  Tuesday’s will be at 3pm and Thursday’s at 6pm (for those working or preferring evening practice).  Each week will allow you to sign up for different fundamental lessons.  Please see the website under “sign up” links for details and to sign up.  Sign ups open each new week.  Here is the link for next week:
https://www.signupgenius.com/go/4090b4fadaa28a3fd0-beginner1
Advanced Clinics:  Bud will conduct the Monday 1:30pm training helping people at the 3.5 or higher levels with developing tournament level skills.  Contact Bud if you are uncertain of your qualification for these classes.  Here is the sign up link: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/4090b4fadaa28a3fd0-advanced
Paddle Play: A new program brought to us by Lis is “Paddle Play”.  This is where people of similar rating levels will play on courts 1-4 at Marinette at 10am on one day/their rating level per week.  Monday is 2.0, Tuesday is 2.5, Wed. is 3.0, Thursday, 3.5 and Friday is 4.0+ Paddle Play days.  The first half hour is specifically assigned drill practice and the next hour is application of the drills in game play with mentor assistance.  Mentors needed.  You may mentor any group that is 0.5 level below yours.  Good opportunity to give back to others and improve your own game. If you are interested in being a mentor, please email Lis
This is a show up and learn/play type event, no sign ups needed.  First come first served on the courts.

You may notice that between clinics, ladders, round robins and tournaments (see Nov. 20th) we are beginning our busy Pickleball season.  Join in…  Volunteer, play and encourage others to enjoy.  Please check out our calendar and the court schedule under activities drop down menu on our website for details.

Be safe and have fun!
