Hi Club Members,

We need men and women 2.0-2.5 players to enter to fill this division. Also, tournament director, Phil Arinno, has opened up the 3.0-3.5 to 12 teams each for men and 12 teams for women. So, more room to sign up now. Also, will add a 4.0-4.5 mixed division now. Join in the fun Gather your partner and sign up: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/4090b4fadaa28a3fd0-1stannual
Paddle Play is off and running this week at 10am on courts 1-4 at Marinette. Lis Smoot is providing skill/drill practice with each other in our approx. rating area for the first half hour and then mixing the players up to test the drills during short games to 7 points. It is “fun learning”. Just show up at your rating day.
Needed: Instructors and mentors. Paddle Play mentors are at least a 0.5 higher rating than the day they help coach players. So, if you are a 3.5, then you can help on Monday (2.0) and Tuesday (2.5) and Wednesday (3.0) Paddle Play sessions. Also, Lis needs instructors to help with the Tuesday (3pm) and Thursday (6pm) clinics basic/advanced basic. Remember, we all were getting help at one time from someone that was kind enough to give their time to train us.
To be an instructor, please contact Lis Smoot.
Westbrook Social Play: This again is the 2.0-2.5 level of social play with our neighbors at Westbrook Village. This is about good neighborly reciprocal social play. We will mix up players between clubs to we can meet other players. First session is Nov. 25th at Westbrook. Still some slots open. Sign up at this link:
Sun City West Reciprocal Play: Nov. 18th, Sunday at Sun City West. Some slots still open. Sign up link:
Holiday Party: December 1st. This is the first time we will have a live band, “Street Player”, who has been playing all over Arizona for years. They play rock, country from 60′, 70’s and 80’s music. Includes a saxaphone. This is a chance to put those quick moving Pickleball legs to rhythm or just enjoy music, good local italian food and socializing with other than skorts and shorts.
Note: In order to allow the caterer to prepare the food, we have to end the ticket sales on Nov. 20th. For tickets, please contact one of our party committee members, Frank Spina, Dave Breault, Pat Klepadlo and Clarisse Oaks. Or you can put your check (not cash) in an envelope with names of attendees, an email address and phone number for contact on the outside of envelope in the dues box behind the bulletin board at Marinette.
Scheduling Committee: As our calendar and court schedule activity continue to increase, we realize that it is necessary to get more input regarding member interests for court usage. For this reason and others, we are forming a Scheduling Committee. This is likely to be a long term committee as the schedule of courts usage and events put on by the club changes throughout the year. Therefore, we need to add a few people to a scheduling committee. Please contact Steve Oaks or Clarisse Oaks if you are willing to join this committee.
Have fun out there.
