Twas the night before Christmas
And out on the courts
Were all types of people
In tennies and shorts
All of them beaming and shouting with joy
Happy as children with a new Christmas toy
Out of their bags, colorful paddles appeared
To the kitchen they scurried, lined up, and cheered
Let’s dink it and drop it, let’s volley and kill
The balls started bouncing as if without will
The sound from the paddles and balls as they rose
Moved all of the players to the tips of their toes
Cross court and forward, balls started to fly
When appeared an old player with a wink in his eye
Dressed in all red from his head to his toe
A smile on his face and a warm, cheery glow
0 0 2 he shouted as he served me the ball
He moved like the wind, barely saw him at all
Then all of a sudden, it was 11 to 0
As we lightly touched paddles, he said he must go
Before I asked where, he disappeared in a haze,
But I heard his farewell while still in my daze
“Keep playing and laughing and having your fun!
Merry Pickleball to all, my work here is done!”

There is currently confusion as to exactly what RCSC expects us to do regarding signing in to play at MV. Friday morning we were told the FAs would no longer be checking our sign in sheets, but Saturday morning there were more out to be used.
Until we get a clear answer from RCSC, please continue to sign in on whatever form is available – theirs or ours. We will turn in our own counts weekly if necessary It is imperative that we continue to keep our player counts up, as high participation may be our greatest leverage to getting more courts at MV when the remodel finally takes place.
Thanks for working with us on this. As of the moment, I have no clear answer from RCSC as to what they want us to do.
Our Sun City Pickleball Club Officers for 2020 are:
President; Dave Breault
VP; Tom Jeffers

Treasurer; Jan Booth
Membership; Evelyn Larsen
Publicity; Lynda Skaggs
Member at Large; Dan Haberman
Congratulations to all, and thank you to our 2019 Board!
Candidates: If you will be seeking office in tomorrow’s election, and have opposition, you will be given a 2 minute (max!) time slot to tell everyone why you are the best candidate . Those running unopposed will have a chance to introduce themselves while we await the election results.
Tickets: Party ticket sales ended Monday, as announced over 2 weeks ago. At that time, we needed to give the caterer an accurate count. A few members have since expressed interest in tickets, and there are always a few people who can’t use their tickets at the last minute. If you fit either description please contact Frank Spina and we will try to pair sellers with buyers.

Some may ask the reason for the change. We are building off the successful registration opening of the PebbleCreek tournament and how they were able to handle lots of registrations in a short time, efficiently handle player email questions, communicate real-time information to the tournament team to make decisions and send email confirmations to all players within hours not weeks. This change is being made to help everyone plan better to provide the best tournament.
