Get A Sun City Pickleball Club Rating

Sun City Pickleball Club Posted on March 15, 2022 by Allen GilsonMarch 15, 2022
  1. If you have been playing Pickleball for more than a month and are a beginner to intermediate player (1.5 to 3.0 level), sign up and come to one of the two Rating Clinics being offered on Saturday, March 19 2022. If you have a tournament rating do NOT get a club rating. The USAP Rating supersedes a club rating.

Why should I have a rating?  Many of the round robin or ladder activities are designated for certain rating levels.  Additionally, the Skill Clinics are listed by certain rating levels.

As your skills improve, you will be able to be re-rated to a higher skill level.

Only sign up for one of the times that Rating Clinics will be offered.

The two options are:

Saturday, March 19, 2:00 pm and 3:30 pm at Marinette

Line Judge Training Clinic

Line Judge Training Clinic-Spring Slam 2022

A major revenue source for our club is the tournaments that we host every year at the Marinette courts.  For our members who have participated or observed tournament play, you know that successful tournaments depend heavily on our club volunteers.  One of the most exciting and dynamic volunteer positions is serving as a line judge.

Our tournaments are USA Pickleball sanctioned events, which require line judges for all gold medal matches.  A pickleball line judge, much like a tennis line judge, is part of the team that supports the referee by observing the travel of the ball and signaling to the referee if the ball has touched the ground or other object outside the court boundaries.

Line judges have the opportunity to see the gold medal match competition and the best players compete at all the skill levels.   For our members looking to learn how to line judge, this class is a must for you.  For our seasoned Club line judges, this is an excellent review of the rules and their application to the game.

We’ll spend about an hour discussing the role of line judge, then we’ll apply that knowledge on the courts to practice the new skills.  Go to Sign Up Genius and register.  The class is limited to 16 participants, plus four alternates.  Paddle, name tags, and court attire are required!

For clinic questions, please contact Tom Jeffers at jeffers.tj@gmail.com.

Remember to sign up as a Spring Slam line judge volunteer!

Date:               Tuesday, March 1, 2022

Location:         Marinette Pavilion

Time:              1:00 PM-3:00 PM
