Fun Day
The Friday morning fun day at the Marinette was a huge success.
We had approximately 130 participants. It must have been the free donuts? It did appear to be a “fun day” with lots of laughter, chit chat and some fun pickleball games thrown in.
Thanks to Deb Lantzy and her helpers for organizing the food and drinks.
Our club is growing daily. Which is now making some of our club activities very popular, with high demand and limited court time. Evelyn Larsen has such an event. The round robin she coordinates on Wednesday mornings has become very popular. The thought was once the snowbirds left and we started the summer schedule the numbers for her RR would drop. This past Wednesday that was not the case. If you wish to participate in Evelyn’s Wednesday RR moving forward, you will need to sign up via Sign-Up Genius.
The paddle holders at the Marinette are starting to be used effectively, especially on courts 13 through 20. On courts 1-4 and inside the pavilion there is still some room for improvement. When ALL the courts are being used, using the paddle holders is the fairest, most effective way for people to rotate on and off the courts. Your group of players play a single game and then come off the courts. The next set of four paddles goes onto the vacated court. Those of you wishing to play with same foursome just need to put your paddles together in the next available slot. If you have a question about how the paddle holder system works, please ask one of our board members (red and white name tags). Many of our more experienced players will also be able to help you.
Courts are getting used earlier and earlier. Maybe the heat?
Happy Hitting,
Dan H.
