Good Morning Sun City Pickleball Club Members!
Election Results:
Congratulations to Karen McAdam for her election to a three year term on our RCSC Board!! Great work Karen! And thank you to all of our Club Members who helped vote her in! Bravo to everyone of you!
Our Club elections were also successful . . . thank you to all your votes of confidence in reelecting the 2020 Executive Board for the 2021 year! Very much appreciated!! Board Members continuing through 2021: Member at Large – Dan Haberman, Publicity – Lynda Skaggs, Membership – Evelyn Larsen, Secretary – Ann Clark, Treasure – Jan Booth, Vice President – Tom Jeffers, President – Dave Breault. Let’s hope this next year gets us back into the full “Club Mode”! The new vaccine is certainly very promising!
Membership:
Membership in the Sun City Pickleball Club, for all Members registered in 2020, continue through 2021 with NO dues due! However, each Member must fill out a membership form for the new year – 2021! This does not matter if your information is the same as for 2020 – you MUST fill out a new membership form! The most direct and easy way to re register is to go to our Club Website suncitypickleballclub.org – on our homepage click on Our Club, a pulldown for join or RENEW can be found there – please fill out the form! There are, also, paper membership forms available in the center kiosk at Marinette. Once your info has been received, a Board Member will give you the 2021 yellow sticker to put on your Club Badge that you wear each day when you play! Dues for new Members remain at $15.
Updates:
The Bylaw Committee has completed their final draft document. Their well researched and well organized final draft has been given to the Club Board for review . . . more info to come as this process continues. Thank you Coleen Hoeschen, Donna Holick, Diana Graham, Cindy Golden, and Dave Breault.
Have you noticed the new AED Device put up on a center post inside the pavilion at Marinette?! Thank you to the RCSC, Chris Herring, and Myrna DeBruyne for their part in helping get this new AED Device! We hope to have more training on the correct use of this device once the Covid situation is over.
The gates to enter courts 13 and 14 at Marinette from the south patio are on the schedule for construction work to begin soon . . . when we hear some more exact times, we will let everyone know. These gates, in addition to facilitating entering/exiting those courts, will certainly help us with the “social distancing”! That’s a really nice, large patio!
As we enter the “colder” part of the “winter” here in sunny Arizona, the pickleballs need special attention . . . while we put on another layer of clothing, they can’t . . . please put them in the coolers at the end of your play.
Due to the Pandemic – the Spring Slam, too, has been canceled! Come on vaccine!
A final thought . . . for now,
Thank you all for continuing to follow all the safety guidelines during this crazy time of 2020 – keep up with the “social distancing”, the mask wearing and your consideration of courtesy to all Club Members as we continue to pursue this wonderful activity/sport of pickleball – and, surely, hope you all enjoy a very nice holiday – some great Christmas lights out there!! Can make you smile when you see them!
