Good afternoon Sun City Pickleball Club Members this last Sunday in May……
And tomorrow is June 1st . . . with plenty of heat!!! (Three ! for the triple digits)
It has been great getting back on the courts these last few weeks and seeing so many of you getting back into playing this wonderful game of pickleball! The courts at Mountain View and Marinette still seem the same . . . wish I could say “ditto” about “my” game! Nice to get back onto our “home” courts . . . 2 sets of bleachers have been added at Marinette with lots of the plastic railings replaced with new material!! Thank you Ed and company!
Last week the RCSC Board began their open meetings again . . . it was very well attended . . . many of our Club Members were in attendance. There was much discussion about the progress taking place as Sun City reopens . . . safely, of course . . . no date has been set for Phase 2 to begin.
The next RCSC Board Meeting will be taking place on Monday, June 8 at 9 am at the Sun Dial Auditorium. At this meeting, the Ad Hoc Long Term Committee of 2020 will be presenting their proposal for the renovations and improvements at Mountain View . . . as you know, our Club Member Rich Peterson, is a member of that committee. The proposal has many categories to it as you can imagine . . . Theater/Auditorium, Swimming Pool(s), Fitness Center and Gym, Mini Golf and Other Outside Areas! The latter includes the addition of more Pickleball Courts and an improved shaded area for those waiting to play Pickleball!
It has been suggested that our Club should have a strong showing of Members at this meeting just as we did the last time the Mountain View renovations were discussed. It would be nice to have our Club represented well again, especially from the many who use the Mountain View Facility and for those of us who play pickleball on the Mountain View courts! So, mark it down on your calendar – Monday, June 8, 9 am at Sundial! See you there!
On a side note . . . many of our Club Members have been able to make arrangements and picked up their Club shirts/hats . . . have you seen them . . . nice, indeed! Frank Spina still has a few hats available for purchase ($14) . . . a very few left. For those who were unable to get in on this order, hopefully, there will be another order opportunity later this year.
Stay hydrated, stay well . . .
