Dear Pickleball Club Members,
An idea has been brought to the board’s attention to try out a “Limited Play” concept.
This would be anyone (club members, people not yet in our club or possibly guests) that due to some physical limitations, I.e., stroke, joint limitations, Parkinson’s, etc., have avoided the game of Pickleball.
Since our club has a purpose to encourage people to play the game, a volunteer came forth with this idea and willingness to get it started.
The current concept (subject to trial and learning adjustments) is to have a few levels of capability, I.e., can only take a single step- one direction side to side, can take a step side to side as well as backwards and forwards. The game rules would be adjusted to the level of movement of a single player on a “mixed capability” team. Mixed capability refers to one person is limited mobility, while the other person is capable of full court movement (maybe like a 3.0 level player)
The question is do we have interested participants?
If you know someone that has wanted to play Pickleball, but is limited in movement on the court, please have them provide their name, phone number and email address to
Ryan Derosier at: firstname.lastname@example.org
If enough interest is shown a meeting will be scheduled and possibly league play started.
Please let Ryan know who is interested.
Note: Must be willing to join our club or have a club member use a guest pass to get non-RCSC members in to facility to play.
