Dear Pickleball Members,
We are your 2018 board members and we want to start off the new year telling you we are excited about being the “new team”. We believe the Pickleball Club has been both a good physical activity and social club to many of us. We want to not only continue this direction, but improve and grow our club.
With those initial objectives stated, let’s begin with some event review (January events).
1. We have a “kickoff the year” event designed to bring us together with those regulars and returnees, called the Desert Frogs vs. Snowbirds play and potluck event. This is on Friday, January 5th at Marinette from 1pm to 8pm (courts 1-16) Make it your opportunity to rekindle/start friendship, engage in new competition or just come to play and eat. Please bring an item you would like to share for the potluck (6pm) that will be set up in the auditorium.
2. Other than January 5th, there are Friday Pickleball Socials at Marinette from 5-8pm (courts 9-16 and patio)
3. How about Fun Days with snacks, Thursday January 11th, 4-7pm Marinette (courts 5-12), Jaunary 16th, 4-7pm, Mountain View (courts 1-7 and patio).
4. Next Board/Member meeting is Monday, January 22 at 3-4:30pm at Fairway Ctr.,
Room 1 and 2. We consider this an important meeting to gain input from the membership, set direction for 2018 and vision for years ahead.
More events in February, which will be detailed in a future email.
More information on events can be found on our website at: suncitypickleballclub.org
One important statement about the success of our upcoming events is having enough volunteers to run the tournaments and events. We are very happy that Pat Klepadlo has offered to be the “Events Volunteer Coordinator” for 2018. Please see her if you will be so kind as to help out at any of the club events this year or see volunteer sign up boards being distributed at Marinette and Mt. View.
