The weather in Sun City has remained in the 90’s. It is important in the heat to make sure we remove all of the pickleballs from the outside courts at Marinette and MountainView after play. At MountainView, they have a cooler to hold the pickleballs and protect them from the heat. At Marinette, please put the pickleballs into the white bucket and take the bucket back into the Pavilion. The Onix 2 pickleballs don’t seem to break but they do get soft and then aren’t much fun to play with on the courts. So please help the club avoid spending extra money to purchase more before it really should be necessary. A box of Onix Pure 2 pickleballs will cost us almost $200. Thanks for your consideration in this matter.
Our club has been asked if our 3.0 men would be interested in a weekly reciprocal pickleball event. Sun City Grand as well as Sun City West are also starting a 3.5 men’s and a 4.0 men’s weekly event. I am going to submit the forms to RCSC to start these activities. Our club will need players at each level to handle the sign-in of other clubs when Marinette hosts the reciprocal event for each specific level. So the club will need volunteers from each level to meet the players at the reception desk and check the visitors into our facility prior to play. If you’re interested in coordinating this effort for your specific men’s level (3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5), please let Marcia Gregory or Dave Breault know as soon as possible. These events will start around October 1, 2017.
See you at the courts,
We would like to thank the Sun City Pickleball Club members who coordinated & taught the introductory, beginner, advanced beginner & intermediate clinics the past few months. We are very fortunate to have such high quality players to generously give their time to further the game of pickleball in Sun City.
The following players time, patience & generosity is greatly appreciated:
Also thanks to Dave Sinclair & Ed Millett who had previously arranged with RCSC to have the courts reserved for the clinic time.
If you are interested in coordinating or teaching one of the clinics beginning again in the fall, please contact Marcia Gregory.
